Biographical Notes
Robert Shaw was the fifth son and sixth of the fifteen children of David Shaw and Margaret née Stevenson who had married in Scotland before leaving for New Zealand. Robert married Jessie Campbell on 26 May 1897 at Dunedin. He returned to Timaru with Draft 187 which brought a large number of soldiers home in early October 1918.
