Biographical Notes

Thomas Morrison Guthrie was the son of William and Margaret McNab (née Morrison) Guthrie. He was educated at Waimataitai School, leaving there to go out to work. His father died in 1907. He returned to Timaru with Draft 187 which brought a large number of soldiers home in early October 1918. Thomas may have married Catherine while overseas.
