Biographical Notes
Kenneth James Pickering was the eldest son of William and Jessie May (née McKie) Pickering. He was educated at West Eyreton and Kirwee schools before transferring to Fairlie School in 1912, and then on to Pleasant Point School in 1915. Kenneth put his age up by some three years to allow him to enlsit. He married Hannah Adelaide Lishman in 1924.
