Biographical Notes

James Chisholm was the fifth son of William and Isabella (née Sinclair) Gillies, both of whom hailed from Scotland. James was called up and enlisted in 1917. In 1921 he married ann Marion Maxwell, who outlived him by more than twenty years. Two brothers served in World War I - John Sinclair and William; and a third, Gillies, enlisted..
