Biographical Notes
James Arthur Spencer Hunt was the youngest son of Thomas and Anna (née Thim) Hunt. His brother Robert Herman Walter Thomas Hunt was killed in action in 1918 in France; another brother, Albert August Hunt, also served in World War I. James returned to Waimate in April 1919 per the troopship "Kaikoura".
