Biographical Notes
Joseph Ward, for unknown reason, assumed this name. He was, in fact, Michael Ward Rush, which elicited an extract of his birth entry in December 1920 in connection with the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal. Michael was the son of Thomas Rush and Mary Ann née Leahy.
