Biographical Notes

James Victor Wrenn was born on 12 April 1892, five moths after his father died. He was the younger son of James Henry and Elizabeth Watson (née Bell) Wrenn. His father was a bank manager in Timaru prior to his death. In 1894 Mrs Elizabeth Wrenn married Percy White. Young James was educated for a few years at Temuka School. His older brother alan Henry Wrenn, was called up for war service.
