Biographical Notes

George Finlay Timewell was the son of John Wreford and Annie (née McDonald) Timewell. He was educated at Totara Valley and Hazelburn schools. George returned to New Zealand on the Maunganui in June 1919. That same year he married Margaret Grant. Two of his brothers, Albert Victor and John William, also served in World War I.
