Biographical Notes
Alfred Walter Walton was born on 10 January 1895 at Esk Valley, the third son of Walter George and Sarah Louisa (née Hodgkinson) Walton. He attended Otaio School from February 1900 till October 1905. On 30 November 1921 at St Anne's Church, Pleasant Valley, near Geraldine, he married Agnes Eugenie Duncan. His older brother Charles also served in World War I.
