Biographical Notes
Ferdinand Faithful was the son of George Hay and his second wife, Helen Jane née Marshall. At the time of enlistment Ferdinand was a firemen for the Timaru Borough Council.He was a brother of George Huntley Hay who was killed in action in 1917.
