Biographical Notes

John Levens was the second son of George Joseph and Annie (née Walker) Levens. He was educated at Temuka School. In 1913 he married Grace Myrtle Montgomery. Grace had died by 1917 and in 1918 he married Flora MacKinnon His eldest brother, George William Levens, was killed in action in 1916 in France.
