Biographical Notes

James Raymond Meagher, born on 1 April 1899 at Timaru, was the son of James Francis and Catherine (née Foley) Meagher. His brother Francis (Frank) Patrick Meagher also served in World War One. James Meagher, 69418, was at first rejected (about April 1916) as unfit for the Military Forces because he was under age.
