Biographical Notes

Robert Charles Taylor Gordon was the younger son of Frederick West Gordon and Susan (Susanah Margaret) née Williams. He was educated at Timaru Main and Waimataitai schools before attending several schools in the Dunedin area - Arthur Street, High Street, Mornington, Moray Place and north East Valley. His father, Robert and his brother Frederick all changed their surname legally from Gordon to the family name Garlick. Robert married Amelia Lyle Stevens in 1919
