Biographical Notes

Frederick William John Gordon was the son of Frederick West Gordon and Susan (Susanah Margaret) née Williams. frederick was educated at Waimataitai and Timaru Main schools before going out to work at age 13. His father, Frederick and his brother Robert all changed their surname legally from Gordon to the family name Garlick. Frederick married Gladys May Arps in 1923.
