Biographical Notes
James Joseph Kyne was the second son of Patrick and Norah (née Folen) Kyne, and a brother of Patrick Edward Kyne who also served in World War One. Another brother, Thomas Stephen Kyne, was called up in 1917, by which time he was a police constable stationed in Auckland. James married Josephine Bridget Cullen in 1925. Sometime after her death in 1943 he married Louisa Catherine.
