Loughrey Holmes Hayward was the first-born of Luke Reveley and Eliza (née Ford) Hayward.
Loughrey was killed in a road accident on State Highway One just south of Timaru on 13 June 1952. His widow survived him by exactly 39 years, dying at the age of 91.
