Biographical Notes
Errol Grant TAYLOR, who used the name Errol GRANT-TAYLOR, was the second son of David Andrew and Isabella Lyon (nee GRANT) TAYLOR. Errol lived on the Chatham Islands for a time prior to the outbreak of war. In 1922 he married Dorothy Brunhilde CHEESEMAN, Their first child, Thomas Ludovic GRANT-TAYLOR, was born on 18 October 1923 at "Kelvin", Remuera. Errol died on 31 December 1950 and is buried in the RSA section of the Taita Cemetery. His widow died in 1973 and was cremated at Tauranga. His brother, Alan Gordon Grant TAYLOR was killed in action at the Somme in 1916. Another brother, Cuthbert Dallas Grant TAYLOR, also served in WWI. .
