Son of Joseph & Louisa Ann (nee GAY) WILLIAMS. Brother Ernest WILLIAMS also served in WWI. Brother Thomas Henry WILLIAMS served in the South African War. Alfred & Ernest returned to NZ on Transport 203 in January 1919. Married Ruby Jane SNELL in 1919. Three sons, one daughter. Accorded RSA honours at funeral.
