Biographical Notes
Fourth son of Rev. W. J. WILLIAMS, sometime Wesleyan minister at Timaru. Educated at East Christchurch & Timaru Main schools. Married Elsie Clara STEVENSON. Son Errol Wallis Stevenson WILLIAMS died in 1941 in the Western desert in WWII. In 1917 when he was awarded the Military Cross, he was temporary major. Died 1970, NZ. Brother Bertram Victor WILLIAMS was killed in action in 1917 in WWI; brother Hugh Hosking WILLIAMS served in WWI & WWII; brother Harold Whitmore WILLIAMS was a war correspondent in WWI.
