Biographical Notes
MUNRO, Charles Vivian (Service number 7/2083) was born on 8 December 1894 in the Timaru district, possibly in Pareora. He was the youngest son of John Alexander Munro and Jane (née MacMillan). His brother, Robert Donald Munro, also served overseas, while George Percival Munro enlisted as well. According to his military records, Charles was employed as a labourer. He was killed in action at Messines on 13 June 1917. His father passed away in 1902, and his mother remained a widow until her death in 1951. Both are interred in Timaru.
