Biographical Notes
Son of Mary HORGAN, Temuka. Married Julia Philomena SUGRUE in 1928. James was bid farewell, along with fellow volunteer Alfred Gason, at the home of Mr and Mrs H. Gason at Milford in October 1914. He was welcomed home at a very large gathering at the Milford School in June 1917, again with Alfred Gason and also G. Aspinall and L. Trumper. They were entertained and then each presented with a medal of honour.
