Biographical Notes

Son of George and Emily Frances Hogben.Father was headmaster TBHS 1889-1899. Of

the three sons of Mr George Hogben

(late Director of Education), of Khandallah, who enlisted, two

have been killed in action—Sergeant George H. Hogben

in 1915, and Lance-Corpl.   Herbert Hogben

last month. The youngest son (Private E. Noel

Hogben,

of the Machine-Gun Corps), who left with the 26th Reinforcement

and on arrival in England was transferred to the 25th,
