Biographical Notes

Son of John & Elizabeth CLARKE (? 1942). Still on active service when his brother Charles Peter CLARKE died of pneumonia in Auckland on 23 November 1918. Served 4 years in NZEF (WWI). Also served in the Army in WWII (Regimental No. 807157). For WWII his next-of-kin was his wife Ellen CLARKE, of 41A Heaton Street, Timaru. Saddler later. In 1946 when he applied for a War Service Gratuity he was living in Christchurch. See Cenotaph Database later (error?).
