Biographical Notes
Benjamin Buckley was the son of Benjamin Alfred and Elizabeth Josephine Buckley (nee Walsh), of Hook, Waimate. Benjamin (senior) and Elizabeth came to New Zraland from Ireland, where they farmned at Hook from the late nineteenth century until around the end of World War One. Benjamin (junior) was born on 28 April 1872.
Benjamin (junior) was a "native of Timaru".
