Biographical Notes

This James BROWN was a son of John and Louisa (nee KIRBY) BROWN. His brothers David and Francis also served in WWI. James was farewelled at a very pleasant evening of euchre, dancing and singing, at his parents' residence, "Riverslea", on 15 March 1916, when he was on leave from Featherston Camp. James continued to farm his father's property, "Riverslea", at Milford. James was honoured by the Temuka RSA at his funeral.
