Biographical Notes

Reginald Francis Moore was born on 14 August 1886 at Amberley, the son of James William and Lizzy Eginton Hemsley (née English) Moore, and was educated at Amberley School. He was a draper at Waimate when his name was drawn in the Military Service Ballot late in 1916. He enlisted as Reginald Moore. Reginald married Ruth Olive Butcher in 1919. They are buried at Waimate, as are Reginald’s parents. R. F. Moore’s services plaque in Qaimate Cemetery bears the service number 47166.
