Biographical Notes

John Buckley was born on 25 December 1883 at Orari, South Canterbury, and baptised Roman Catholic on 20 January 1884 at Geraldine. He was the oldest son of Philip and Margaret (née Norton) Buckley. Philip Buckley was from County Cork, Ireland, while Margaret was from County Limerick.
