Biographical Notes

Gordon Roy Harris was born on 12 January 1896 at Timaru, the older son of Henry (Harry) Richard and Alice Margaret (née Wright) Harris. He was educated at Washdyke School, going on to the and High School in 1910. Gordon was in hospital in January 1918, his reported as a severe case. He married Sadie Ellen Scales in 1931. Gordon died on 24 October 1971 at Timaru and is buried with his parents in the Timaru Cemetery.
