Biographical Notes

Norman Wake was the eldest son of Albert Edward and Annie Isabella (née Armstrong) Wake. He was educated at several schools in south Canterbury – Fairview, Gleniti (Wai-iti), Springbrook and Kingsdown. In 1925 he married Amelia Helen Goddard. His brother, Archibald Armstrong Wake, also served in World War I.
