Biographical Notes

Albert Ernest Welch was the son of Thomas Henry and Susan Welch, who are buried in the Ashburton Cemetery. Albert married Ethel May McWhinney on 24 December 1911 at Chalmers Church, Timaru. Late in 1917 he was drawn in the Second Ballot for Second Division Class A drafts.
