Biographical Notes

Henry Carl Gudex, known as Harry, was the youngest son of German-born Christian Gudex and his wife, Mary Elizabeth née Aker. He was educated at Claremont School near Timaru. Late in 1917 he was drawn in the Second Ballot for Second Division Class A drafts and was called up. at the time he was farming for his father at White Rock, Rangiora. Henry married Muriel Annie Scott in 1926.
