Biographical Notes

Joseph Simpson Douglas was the son of William Simpson Douglas and his wife, Mary Jane née Fleming. Joseph was at home with his family at Bushmills Town, County Antrim, Ireland, in 1901 and 1911. Late in 1917 he was selected by lot from the First Division and called up. Joseph married Myrtle Agnes Rae on 15 May 1922 at Glenomaru, Otago. Joseph and Myrtle separated about 1952.
