Biographical Notes

William Henry Drummond Anderson was the youngest son of David and Agnes (née Cummings) Anderson. He was educated at Invercargill Middle School. William married Isabella Maud Dickson 9Maud) on 38 July 1916 at Timaru. They had one son before Maud died in 1918 while William was abroad. Embarking at Tilbury on 12 March 1919 for the return home, he reached Lyttelton, New Zealand by the “Corinthic” in April 1919, one of 1142 soldiers aboard. William married secondly, Addie Annie Hayward in 1924.
