Biographical Notes

William Theodore White was the younger son of the Reverend William White and his wife Agnes Jane née Carleton. William and Agnes married in January 1879 in Northern Ireland, their first three children being born there. In about 1885 they came to New Zealand. The Rev White and his family spent a few years at Pleasant Point, during whih time William was born. He was a bank clerk at Devonport, Auckland, when he was called up. William married Sarah Amy Maskell (Sally).
