Biographical Notes

Albert David Oswald Josling, perhaps known as Oswald, was the older son of Albert Steele and Esther (née Young) Josling. He and his brother were educated at Temuka School. He was drawn in the first military service ballot for No. 10 (South Canterbury) recruiting district in November 1916. His younger brother, John Tasman Josling known as Tasman, was called up in 1918. Albert married Dorothy May Unwin in 1929.
