Biographical Notes

Gordon Ross Mitchell was the son of James Ross and Blanche (née Jones) Mitchell. He married Ivy Clementine Leeder in 1912, and Eileen Cargill McMaster in 1920. Major G. R. Mitchell, D.S.O., of Timaru, was in charge of the Carpentaria's draft of returning soldiers which arrived in May 1919. much more information to be extracted from Cenotaph Database.
