Biographical Notes

Charles Henry Schmith was the son of Frank and Louisa Bella (née Smith) Schmith. His father died in 1887 and is buried at Waimate. Charles was drawn in the 17th ballot in 1917. He returned to New Zealand on the Chupra's draft in July 1919.
