Biographical Notes

Edwin Henry Saunders was the son of Henry Saunders of Waimate. He was likely the son of Henry and Catherine Jane née Wilson. Edwin returned to New Zealand in April 1919 per the troopship "Kaikoura". He married Flora Mary Campbell in 1925. Perhaps he was a cousin of Walter Henry Saunders, of Waimate, who also served in World War I.
