Biographical Notes

Edward Budd was the third son of Alfred and Elizabeth Cornthwaite (née Reid). He was educated at Timaru Main and Timaru South schoolsl. Edward married Violet Black on 28 March 1913 at Dunedin. He enlisted at Timaru, having been drawn in the ballot. His youngest brother Herbert George Budd was killed in action in 1915 at Gallipoli. His brother Alfred also enlisted.
