Biographical Notes

James Vincent Mullany was the son of Luke and Mary (née Hill) Mullany. He was born at Fairlie when his father was stationed there with the police. His brother Edwin Joseph Mullany (known as Joseph), was killed in action at Passchendaele, and an elder brother, Charles Luke Mullany, also served in World War I. Vincent James Mullany (born 7 June 1898) is listed as a constable in the Victoria, Australia, Police Gazettes of 1921 - 1924.
