Biographical Notes

James Heffernan was the eldest son of Denis and Mary Heffernan. He attended Pleasant Point School. It appears that he responded to a call-up in 1916. He had been examined in 1915 and rejected as medically unfit (eyesight). he was, moreover, over 46 years old.
