Biographical Notes

Horace Algernon Rayner was the son of William Thomas and Harriet Edith (née Goddard) Rayner. Horace married Annie Watkins on 25 September 1914 at Pleasant Point. The couple's went on to have six children: Iris Merle; Douglas Francis; Phyllis Rebecca; twins Kenneth Stewart and Mona Hazel, and Trevor John Mervyn.

Horace's brothers, Alfred Harman Rayner and Herbert Wellesley Rayner, both also served in World War I.
