Biographical Notes

Edward Leslie Duffin was the son of Edward and Margaret Jane Duffin. The family was at Ardihannon, Antrim, Ireland in 1901, and at Dundooan, Londonderry in 1911, when Edward was a scholar. They must have come to New Zealand soon after the 1911 census. Edward married Dorothy Agnes Emerson in 1920. His brother Malcolm also served in World War I.

An entry on the Northern Bank War Memorial/Roll of Honour website on Edward's brother Douglas Irvine Duffin at https://northernbankwarmemorials.blogspot.com/2020/05/duffin-douglas-irvine.html reveals a little more about the family - and the brother who also served in the Great War with the British Forces.
