Biographical Notes

Peter McPherson, 78580, was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth (Betsy, née Cunningham) McPherson. He attended the Waihao Native School at Waihao near Waimate.Peter married Jane McChesney Crombie on 7 November 1914 at Invercargill. Their daughter, Iris Anne McPherson, was born on 7 March 1918 at Timaru. Thomas was a brother of Neil who served in World War One and a cousin of Peter and Roger who served. His brother Thomas also enlisted.
