Biographical Notes

Neil McPherson was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth (Betsy, née Cunningham) McPherson. He attended the Waihao Native School at Waihao near Waimate. Neil was a cousin of Peter and Roger who served in World War One. His brothers Peter and Thomas also enlisted.
