Biographical Notes

William John Larcombe Pearce, known as Jack, was the younger son of William and Mary Pearce. His mother had died prior to his enlistment, about 2 years after coming to New Zealand. The family had migrated about 1900, In January 1901 his brother and his sister Mary Anne entered Temuka School from a London school, while William started at Temuka School in 1901. William married Margaret jane Lindsay on 3 April 1918 at Temuka.
