Biographical Notes

Leonard John Watson Sandes Hitch was the eldest of the three sons of Watson and Isabella (Bella, née Kellahan) Hitch, and a brother of Gordon Edgar Hitch who died of wounds in 1918. Like his brothers he was educated at the Timaru Main School.
