Biographical Notes

Violet Gertrude Barker was the daughter of William Edward Barker and his first wife, Gertruse Ellen née Pritchett. Violet's mother died when Violet was just over two years old. Her father then married her aunt, Lucy Mary Pritchett. Violet trained a s anurse in Wellington.
