Biographical Notes

The 1912 Timaru Technical School roll book has an entry for Thornton Scott, giving his address as PO Box 22. He was listed as studying art work, with his occupation being “assistant architect”. His age is hard to decipher, but looks like either 13 or 15 years and 8 months, which would make his age at enlistment in 1917 somewhere between 18 and 20 years.

Probably he left Timaru for the Front on 11 April 1917.
