Biographical Notes

Son of John Alexander & Eleanor (nee HAMBLETON) WILLIAMS. Married Gertrude Margaret HANNA in 1919. Educated at George Street School, Dunedin, & Waimataitai School, Timaru. Brother Leslie John WILLIAMS died in WWI. Herbert was in camp ready to leave for overseas service when his brother Leslie was killed in action.
